Attorney General Discloses Probe into Trump Rivals and Epstein Ties

On Friday, the Attorney General appointed Jay Clayton to oversee an investigation into opponents of Donald Trump and their connections with Jeffrey Epstein. This move came just after the president directed her to begin the probe.

During an announcement, Bondi praised Jay Clayton as “a highly skilled and reliable legal expert”. She added, “This case will be addressed with speed and honesty to ensure public transparency.”

This development appears to contradict a recent memorandum from federal authorities which indicated that the Epstein files lacked grounds for additional investigations. According to the memo, investigators “lacked sufficient evidence to pursue cases against other parties.”

The President Demands Scrutiny of Democrats in the Epstein Matter

This news comes as increasing demands from the president on lawmakers to resist the full release of Epstein-related documents before an upcoming House vote next week. Several lawmakers are anticipated to support the release.

Recently released communications from Jeffrey Epstein have brought attention to the president’s past involvement with the convicted criminal, revealing details that his knowledge of Epstein’s behavior exceeded prior admissions.

On Friday, the President declared he would ask the DOJ to investigate connections between Epstein and Democratic figures, specifically naming Bill Clinton, Larry Summers and Reid Hoffman. Interestingly, he also referred to the “Epstein situation” as a “scam”.
