David Walliams lost his contract with longtime publisher.
Acclaimed young adult author and comedian David Walliams is no longer with his UK book publisher, according to an announcement.
An official for the publisher commented: "Following a thorough review, and with the guidance of its fresh leadership, HarperCollins UK has chosen to cease publishing any new titles by David Walliams."
Media sources suggest that the move was made after an investigation into allegations of inappropriate behaviour towards women.
The firm has not elaborated on the reasons for its decision, noting: "We do not comment on internal matters."
A Highly Successful Publishing History
Walliams ranks among Britain's most prolific writers for young readers, having sold in excess of 60 million copies internationally in five dozen languages.
His first children's book, *The Boy in the Dress*, was published by HarperCollins back in 2008.
Several of his books, such as *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have subsequently been turned into TV movies.
To date, he has released over four dozen titles in total, encompassing a Christmas book titled *Santa & Son*, which was released through HarperCollins last autumn.
A Dual Career
His career breakthrough occurred on the TV sketch series *Little Britain* and has also won National Television Awards for his role as a panelist on *Britain's Got Talent*.
He was made an OBE in 2017 honoring his contributions to philanthropic and artistic endeavors.
The publisher's decision comes after the appointment of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's new chief executive last fall.
