The Simpsons Makes Its Debut in Rocket League: Unfortunately Not the Vehicle You're Dreaming Of

We already knew that the iconic animated series was teaming up with Fortnite, but that's not the only place where enthusiasts can immerse themselves in the world of Springfield. The beloved show is coming over to the popular soccer-driving hybrid, bringing along an in-game car skin that will also be usable in the Fortnite universe. However, whether players will truly desire to equip it is a different matter, as there's only one Springfield car everyone is eager to drive, and this isn't it.

What Fans Really Want

Although most players would absolutely enjoy to compete behind the wheel of Homer's custom creation—the famously flawed automobile Homer built personally in the classic installment "Oh Brother, Where Art Thou?"—regrettably, that isn't what players are receiving. We aren't even receiving the Canyonero, the enormous truck featured in the tenth season. Rather, fans will obtain the Simpsons' standard well-worn four-door, which has been in the family since the show's early days. Even though this specific vehicle has seen better days, it remains an iconic element of the series. And for players who pay attention to Rocket League vehicle dimensions, the trusty sedan shares the same hitbox as the Dominus.

Additional Themed Cosmetics

But that's not the only customization item from the series arriving in the game. This limited-time event will also include a set of objectives to unlock more goodies, all of which are Simpsons-themed. As detailed in a official announcement, the missions will require players to "achieve a certain number of centers and clears as there are The Simpsons seasons, gather boost canisters as if your GPS is set to The Simpsons’ residence, and travel a specific distance worthy of acquiring the ideal pastries!"

Although the full lineup of earnable items isn't yet disclosed, here is what has been confirmed up to this point:

  • Blinky topper
  • Homer's hedge-themed banner
  • Garbage-themed wheels
  • 20,000 experience points for each challenge

Based on promotional images is any indication, it seems players will also receive rims with a TV displaying the show's opening credits, Kang and Kodos topper, a sprinkled donut boost trail, and boost effects inspired by burning tires and Krusty Burger.

Event Timing and Fortnite Connection

This event lines up with the major Simpsons takeover of Fortnite's island, which brings a completely new playable area of the fictional town, as well as a 30-day Battle Pass. This special Rocket League and Simpsons celebration begins on November 1st and concludes on November 17th.
